A little bit Rahab, a little bit Rebekah, a little bit the woman at the well. 100% American woman.
Rahab – The OG patriot woman in the Old Testament. She recognized freedom was coming to town when Joshua’s spies arrived and said to herself, “I’ll have me some of that and for my family too”. They negotiated a deal and when the dust settled one of those patriots married her. “The Church people” today would probably criticize that. They should go study bloodlines.
Rebekah – Some of “The Church people” spoke somewhat derogatory about her story in the Bible. Apparently, they misunderstood her. In actuality, she was perceptive, creative, and wanted God’s will. She did the best she could with what she had, to work within the circumstances and the culture where she lived at that time.
The Woman at The Well – When she met Jesus, her life was changed. He saw her for her. Saw who she really was and still wanted her. He gave her hope and purpose when she was lost in the fog and the darkness. When she realized that, she could not keep that to herself, but had to go back to share it with the others.
